BACK TO SCHOOL PROJECT

Education is one of our thematic areas. We organized programmes targeted in reaching out to vulnerable, marginalized in-school children and teenagers through donations of educational and learning materials to them and also to schools with little or no libraries in low income communities.

It is designed to provide them with necessary materials that will motivate them to stay and get to the finish line in their academic pursuits.

Our Scholarship awards to poor and economically disadvantaged girls is not left out of our approach. We have given much opportunities to them in the completion of their secondary education with furtherance to tertiary institutions.

With over 500 beneficiaries of this intervention, we ensure equitable and accessible education for all.

PROJECT MEE (MENTOR, EDUCATE AND EMPOWER)

Right information is key to making excellent and informed decisions which is much needed in their path to adulthood. A program designed to sensitize, guide adolescents on topics and issues related to them. Adolescent Reproductive Health, Life and Skills training are all embedded in this insightful program.

Under this programme, our school to school campaign has reached more than 7000 secondary school students in their school with over 20 mentors facilitating sessions on Zero tolerance for teenage pregnancy, Zero tolerance for drug abuse and kick against sexual abuse amongst children and girls.

GIRL MEE APP

GirlMEE is a mobile technology based solution supported by Action Aid Nigeria and Women’s Voice in Leadership. It is an innovative way to reach young girls with the much-needed information on sexual and reproductive health, life skills packages, menstrual calculator, all embedded in this digital gateway. Girls can now report any case of sexual or domestic abuse on them with a quick intervention from our response squad.

The innovation here is the use of interactive platform that young girls are savvy with and create an online community that not only informs the girls but also engage them with other teenage girls and trusted expert.

It also connect with other like-minded peers to share, learn, exchange and foster solidarity for gender causes.
